Our Story
With over 25 years of experience as a manager and mentor in the medical device/customer support industry, Monya developed a deep understanding of precision, care, and client satisfaction—qualities that are at the heart of her approach to Sisterlocks and natural hair care.
Monya’s love for natural hair began at the age of 7 when she started braiding and styling tresses of family members, skill and passion passed down to her by her late mother, Nora. Her mother was a gifted hairdresser and salon owner, who instilled in Monya not only the techniques of natural hair care but also the importance of helping others feel beautiful and confident.
In January 2024, Monya boldly embraced a new chapter with Sisterlocks—and it’s been nothing short of transformative! After years of relaxers, big chops, and protective styles, she finally unlocked the freedom and versatility she always craved. Every stage of her journey has been empowering, allowing her to fully embrace her natural beauty and express herself with confidence and authenticity!
